Post Crop Over Slump

The post Crop Over slump is so real. I’ve been spending the last week reminiscing on all the parties and people that made this year so special. To be perfectly honest, I had a little chuckle to myself over it. Then as I thought about it a little deeper I realized I could learn a few lessons from it. Here’s what I came up with:

    1. Never explain your body to anyone. Your body is your business and your business alone. Random strangers and nosy friends don’t know your mental, physical or emotional well being at any given point in time.
    1. Self-care is important. You can’t pour from an empty cup. I’ve spent the last 3 months really zeroing in on my clients’ progress and their fitness journey to the point where I began eating poorly, I hardly slept and I felt really run down. It even spilled over into my personal life.
  1. Enjoy your body where it is at. I could have been upset about the encounter and let it spoil my day but instead, my attitude was ” ok girl judge me while I wukkup to this music”

These are some of the lessons I try to impart to my clients, many of whom are mothers and/or women who are responsible for a lot of people and often put themselves last. In our group classes we don’t only lift weights and run around madly but we support each mentally as well.
